  • We are curating a selective community and have an application process to ensure the quality of our community. You must be an accredited investor and be an active angel investor.

  • No. Old Tom Ventures LPs are those that are invested in any of our core Old Tom Ventures Funds.

  • SPV stands for Special Purpose Vehicle, and is the corporate structure (usually an LLC) through which investments are made. We will create (through Carta) a new SPV for each deal. The per-SPV fee is currently $8k, and will be shared pro-rata among investors who participate in that SPV. We reserve the right to change our fees if and when the need arises.

  • No. As a syndicate backer, you are investing in membership units of the SPV when then invests in the company on behalf of its members.

  • Minimums vary based on the investment opportunity but can range from $5,000 to $15,000.

  • We charge no management fee. There is a $1,500 one-time initiation fee to join Old Tom Venture Club. The cost of every SPV formation is shared pro-rata amongst the investors for that opportunity and OTVC charges 20% carry.

  • “Carry” is short for carried interest which is a share of the profits. OTVC charges 20% carry with a 1x return hurdle on all deals.

  • We anticipate to bring between 8 - 12 investment opportunities per year.

  • Yes! We will give you 10% of our carry for any deals you bring to the Syndicate where: a) you are the first person to suggest the company, b) we are not already in contact with the company - includes all Old Tom Ventures companies - and c) we fund the company.
